"Is it true that our loved ones in Heaven come to get us when we die?"

We never die alone. I was in 10th grade and was a very busy high school student. At the time, I was living with my step-father, mom, and my younger sister. Usually at lunchtime, I would come home from school. During this time, my grandmother was very ill and in the hospital. She wasn't doing well for quite some time and was in the critical care unit. We would visit her, but it was clear that her time on earth was coming to a close. It was a tough time for everyone waiting for her time to pass. My grandfather had already passed years earlier.

One day, I came home from school on my lunch like normal. I ran into the house, saw my step-father and my mom in the kitchen, yelled a quick hello, and went straight to my room. I came out of my room and greeted my mom in the kitchen. We were talking about how my grandmother was doing that day and were about to sit down to eat when I asked my mom why my step-father wasn't eating lunch at the table as usual. Mom explained that he was stuck at work and wouldn't be coming home for lunch. I thought we must have company here as I had seen a man standing in the kitchen when I arrived.

I questioned my mom again and said, “Who else is here?”. She said, “Alexa, it's just me here, there's no one else here but you, what are you talking about?”

“Mom, I know someone else is here. I saw them and said hi to you both when I walked in the door”. Mom repeated again, “There is no one here, it's just me and you.”

When I say that my blood ran cold, I don't think it's an exaggeration. All of the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, and I put down my fork. I quickly left the kitchen and searched every room in the house for this man I had clearly seen. To my surprise, I didn't find anyone. I was so confused until a realization hit me. My grandfather had come to help my grandmother pass. This came to me as a very strong inner knowing. I didn't know how I knew this, but I did. It felt like a matter of fact, and with it came a sense of urgency. Both my step-father and my grandfather are tall men with gray hair, so they look similar from a distance. My grandfather was here to accompany my grandmother in crossing over.

I was having a premonition.

I told my mom this and exclaimed that my grandmother would be passing away that day, and we should tell the rest of the family. I realized that who I had seen in the kitchen was not my step-father, but it was my grandfather.

We needed to go to the hospital to say our goodbyes.

That evening, we gathered at the hospital, and my grandmother did end up passing away that night. The old tale that our passed loved ones come to get us when it's our time to die is true. We never truly die alone. We always have loved ones in Spirit helping and guiding us to cross over to the other side. This is solidified as I continue to do mediumship readings for people.

Very often, loved ones who are near death will mention seeing passed loved ones in the room with them. In turn, passed loved ones say to me during mediumship readings that they were present when someone close to them died and helped them cross.

We never truly die alone.

This life is physical - the next life is not.
